Mortalla is a fictional extraterrestrial goddess published by DC Comics.
Publication history
She first appeared in Orion #6 (November 2000) and was created by Walt Simonson.
Fictional character biography
Darkseid's servant, and supposed third wife. She self-identified as Darkseid's wife when Superman travelled to Apokolips to reclaim the life of John Henry Irons, the man known as Steel. Mortalla ordered Apokolips troops to release Doomsday in an attempt to help Darkseid. She is a member of the Darkseid's Elite.
She is portrayed as a good looking woman with blue skin that slightly resembles the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar.
During the Death of the New Gods storyline, Mortalla is one of the many victims of the Infinity-Man, who is killing the New Gods as an agent for the Source.[1]
Powers and abilities
She can bestow sleep on an individual with one hand, while the other hand can kill.
