The Moro Resistance and Liberation Organization (abbreviated as MRLO) is an active armed secessionist group participating in the Moro Conflict.[2][3] It was established by the National Democratic Front (NDF) as one of its Moro subdivisions, and was the 16th organization created by the NDF to fight under its leadership.[1]
The group's main goal is to support the National Democratic Front's perception among Filipino Muslims but is against any form of self-determination. It is not in favour of the National Democratic Front and the Communist Party of the Philippines' view that self-determination must be subsumed under the goal of a national democratic revolution, along with other groups such as the Moro National Liberation Front. The group has openly and consistently condemned the government of the Philippines military operations in Mindanao, accusing them of violence against Moro civilians.[1]
