Morgan Porteus
The Right Reverend Morgan Porteus (born August 10, 1917) was the eleventh bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut. He was ordained to the diaconate on September 29, 1943, and to the priesthood on June 1, 1944. Porteus was consecrated on October 13, 1971.[1] He served as rector of St. Peter’s Church, Cheshire, Connecticut from 1944 to 1971.[1] He was consecrated bishop suffragan of Connecticut in 1971, and served as bishop coadjutor from 1975-1977. He was the eleventh diocesan from 1977 to 1981.
