The Moose Jaw Art Guild (est. 1949) is a community arts association made up of artists from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan dedicated to exhibiting, educating and fostering appreciation for visual arts. It was formed by members of the Moose Jaw Women's Art Association.[1] The guild encourages appreciation and production of artistic works, and fosters artistic initiatives in the communityt.[2]

History

The Guild was associated with Women's Art Association of Saskatchewan which disbanded in 1957. The Guild was originally named the Moose Jaw Fine Art Guild until a 1984 a motion was passed to change the name to Moose Jaw Art Guild. Members at the time felt the term "fine" dissuaded potential members from joining.[2]

In 2012, the Guild held its first Community Artists Development Day, a networking and educational event.[1]
