Monarch (Lay Your Jewelled Head Down) is the debut album by Feist, released on August 24, 1999. It was recorded in Toronto and mixed at Hamilton's Catherine North Studio. Sold primarily at shows, Monarch became an underground hit, even generating a single and music video of the song "It's Cool to Love Your Family", featuring a band composed of Canadian musicians including members of Royal City.

Despite the success of Feist's follow-up albums, Let It Die and The Reminder, the album remains out of print. In May 2012 a limited edition of 2000 copies was reissued on 12" 180 gram vinyl.

In 2009, the Art of Time Ensemble featuring Sarah Slean recorded a version of "Monarch" for their album Black Flowers.
