Mohamed Malimey (Somali: Maxamed Maalimey, Arabic: محمد ماليمي) (born 24 October 1979) is a Somali football coach and a former amateur player. As of 2010, he served as an assistant coach at Sport Club Internacional in the Brazilian First Division.
Biography
Malimey was born in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.[1]
He began his coaching career in amateur football in 2006. In 2007, he joined Lewisham Borough F.C. in England. he worked as an Assistant Head Coach with Lewisham FC,for three seasons.[2]
In October 2009, Malimey earned a UEFA 'B' Diploma from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).[1]
Malimey later moved to Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2010 to begin a six month coaching internship with Sport Club Internacional (Inter) at the club's main Beira-Rio facility. He obtained the position after a year's worth of negotiations with the team's management. Maalimey chose to join Inter so as to familiarize himself with the training strategies and techniques employed in Brazilian football. At Inter, Malimey trained under coach Enderson Moreira, where he learned tactical and technical methods used by both the club's professional staff and youth divisions (Inter B, junior, juvenile, child).[1]
