Mitzi Jayne Dean is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2017 provincial election.[1] She represents the electoral district of Esquimalt-Metchosin as a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party caucus.[1]
Prior to her election, Dean was the executive director for Pacific Centre Family Services, having moved to Victoria from England in 2005, Dean served as a national development manager for children's services with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. She was born in Sevenoaks, England[2] and worked in child protection social work and community based social services across Great Britain for over 20 years. Dean is a graduate of Royal Roads University in 2014 with a certificate in executive coaching.[3]
