Route 101 is a short highway in southern Missouri. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 160 in Caulfield; its southern terminus is at the Arkansas state line (where it continues as Highway 101) south of Bakersfield, the only other town on the route.

History

In 1932, Route M was designated to a gravel road that started from the state line to Route 80, passing through Bakersfield.[2][3] It was renumbered to Route 101 in 1941, part of many changes made by the Missouri State Highway Commission.[4] All of the route was paved by 1953.[5][6] Around 1954, Route 101 was realigned west of Bakersfield, shifting the southern terminus to the west. US 160 replaced Route 80 in the same year.[6][7]
