Miriam Leone (born 14 April 1985) is an Italian television personality and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss Italia 2008 beauty contest.[1]

Biography

Leone was born on born 14 April 1985 in Catania. She grew up in Aci Catena,[1] where her mother Gabriella, a communal employee, and her father Ignazio, a retired teacher, were originally from. She has lived in Acireale since 1999, and attended the "Gulli and Pennisi" grammar school there. She then went to University of Catania.[2]

Leone took part in Miss Italia 2008, and won the competition. She qualified for the pageant by winning the title Miss Prima dell'Anno 2008 (Miss First of the Year), a title that she won on a Carlo Conti programme, L'anno che verrà. She also won the "Miss Cinema" award.[1]

Leone co-presented Unomattina Estate from 1 June to 11 September on Rai Uno. In 2010 Leone was a judge on Ciak! Si Canta. Since 2010, she has been co-hosting Mattina in famiglia on Rai Uno.[3][4] She also hosted the Nastro d'Argento award ceremony in 2011.

She began her acting career with small roles before obtaining the lead role in television drama series "Non uccidere" and "La dama velata".
