The Mirage 27 is a series of Canadian sailboats, that was first built in 1975. The design is out of production.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

The boat series was built by Mirage Yachts in Canada. It consists of two unrelated designs that were both built by Mirage under the same name.[1][2][4][5]

Design

The Mirage 27 designs are both small recreational keelboats, built predominantly of fiberglass. They have masthead sloop rigs, internally-mounted spade-type rudders and fixed fin keels.[1][2]

Variants

Mirage 27 (Peter Schmitt)
This model was designed by Peter Schmitt and was introduced in 1975. It has a length overall of 27.17 ft (8.3 m), a waterline length of 21.50 ft (6.6 m), displaces 5,500 lb (2,495 kg) and carries 2,200 lb (998 kg) of ballast. The boat has a draft of 4.17 ft (1.27 m) with the standard keel. The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar 1GM diesel engine of 9 hp (7 kW). The fuel tank holds 12 U.S. gallons (45 L; 10.0 imp gal) and the fresh water tank has a capacity of 10 U.S. gallons (38 L; 8.3 imp gal). The boat has a hull speed of 6.21 kn (11.50 km/h).[1][2]
Mirage 27 (Robert Perry)
This model was designed by American Robert Perry and was introduced in 1982. It has a length overall of 27.92 ft (8.5 m), a waterline length of 21.67 ft (6.6 m), displaces 5,200 lb (2,359 kg) and carries 2,200 lb (998 kg) of ballast. The boat has a draft of 4.33 ft (1.32 m) with the standard keel. The boat has a hull speed of 6.24 kn (11.56 km/h). This design replaced the Perry-designed Mirage 26 in the company line.[4][5][7]
