Ministry of Education and Research (Norway)

Torbjørn Røe Isaksen is Norway's Minister of Education and Research

Royal Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research (Norwegian: Kunnskapsdepartementet, lit. Ministry of Knowledge) is a Norwegian government ministry responsible for education, research and kindergartens. The ministry was established in 1814, and is since 16 October 2013 led by Torbjørn Røe Isaksen (Conservative Party).

The department reports to the legislature (Stortinget). Traditionally this ministry was also responsible for church affairs, but this function was transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs in 2002.
