Mindless Behavior was an American boy band, best known for the singles "My Girl" and "Mrs. Right", produced by Walter Millsap. The band was put together in Los Angeles in 2008, by Keisha Gamble, Walter Millsap (who has previously worked with Beyoncé and Timbaland) and Vincent Herbert (Lady Gaga, Toni Braxton), and the band trained in dance and singing for two years before releasing a recording.[1] The members were all in their early teens when the band was created.[2] They performed "My Girl" on The Today Show in November 2010.[1] Their debut album, #1 Girl, was released on September 20, 2011.[3] It debuted on the US Billboard 200 album chart at number seven.[4]
Mindless Behavior toured with the Backstreet Boys, Justin Bieber and Jason Derülo, and was the sole opening act for Janet Jackson's 2011 tour.[5] Mindless Behavior also headlined the first BET Closer to My Dreams Tour alongside Diggy Simmons, Lil Twist, Tyga, Trevante and Jawan Harris.[6] In 2011, Mindless Behavior headlined the SCREAM Tour with Diggy Simmons and featuring The OMG Girlz, Jacob Latimore, and Hamiliton Park. They have been predicted as Future Stars by This Must Be Pop.[7]
In July 2012, they embarked their own 25-city tour, (#1 Girl Tour) with opening acts Jacob Latimore, Lil Twist, and rising star Kayla Brianna.[8]
In March 2013, the band released their second studio album, All Around the World on March 12, 2013 and their feature film documentary, Mindless Behavior: All Around the World. Mindless Behavior announced the All Around The World Tour starting in July 2013.
Mindless Behavior has adjusted to many group member changes. The first being in November 2013, the group's lead singer, Prodigy (Craig Crippen Jr.), left the group to pursue a solo career. He returned for a short period in 2014, but later left again and was replaced with their current lead singer, EJ.[9]
In the later months of 2014, group member Roc Royal (Chresanto August) was fired and removed from the group due to him being accused of stealing a producer's car. He began releasing his own music through the moniker "Santo August", but was soon interrupted due to his issues with the law.[10] He is currently in jail, facing a two-year sentence for battery and robbery.[11][12]
Early within 2015, newest group member, Mike River replaced Roc Royal.[13] In September 2015, Ray Ray (Rayan Lopez) decided to leave to pursue a solo career.
