Miles Christi religious order

Miles Christi is a Catholic Religious Order formed of Priests and Brothers, founded in Argentina in 1994, dedicated to the preaching of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. They were invited to the United States by Fr. John Hardon, S.J., and were first established in Michigan in October 2000, the Jubilee Year. The Congregation currently has houses in the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Diocese of San Diego, and several religious houses in its country of origin, Argentina, in the Archdioceses of La Plata and the Mercedes-Luján, and the Diocese of San Luis. They are also active in Rome and in the Archdiocese of Guadalajara, Mexico.[1]

History

Sus orígenes se remontan a la inspiración que tuvo el P. Roberto Juan Yannuzzi, cuando el 15 de agosto de 1984, recibió la inspiración divina de iniciar una agrupación que congregase a sacerdotes dedicados a la dirección espiritual de las almas, con el tiempo, sumándose sus primeros compañeros de milicia ocurrió su establecimiento.[2] Miles Christi was first established in Michigan in October 2000, the Jubilee Year, after the invitation of Cardinal Adam Maida. As of 2013 founder Fr. Roberto Juan Yannuzzi, MC was the superior general of the order.

Liturgy

Gregorian Masses

The Miles Christi religious community has in its Constitution the obligation of celebrating a series of thirty Gregorian Masses for every deceased member of their community. Miles Christi also offers Gregorian Masses for the dead upon request.
