Mike Williams is a Dutch DJ and record producer based in the Netherlands.[3] He is best known for working with Tiesto and as an artist of Spinnin' Records, who recognized him as an "artist of the future".[4][5][6][7][8] He is regarded as a pioneer of the future house subgenre, "future bounce".[9]
Early life
Williams started playing the piano as a kid at the age of six.[10][11] At the age of fourteen, he met a person who invited him to perform as a DJ in a club for 500 people. Williams was regularly booked for gigs after that. In 2014, he remixed "Blame" by Calvin Harris. The remix was well-received in the market and was regularly played by other DJs such as Oliver Heldens in their sets.[12]
In 2015, he released a remix of "I Really Like You" by Carly Rae Jepsen which received over 3 million plays on Soundcloud, and two solo tracks.[13] Since then, he was approached by labels and managements before signing with Spinnin' Records and MusicAllStars Management.[4][14] He was signed by Tiesto who later on also released a single with him, and managed by MusicAllStars.[15][16]
Career
Williams' Spinnin' Records debut single "Sweet And Sour" peaked on the Beatport Top 100 chart at 6.[17] An official music video for the song was released.[18] He released "Another Night" as a single featuring singer Matluck.[19] The song received over 5 hundred thousand plays in total on Spotify and Soundcloud. An acoustic version of the song was released later.[20][21] He released "Take Me Down" via Spinnin' in 2016.[22] His single with Tiesto titled "I Want You" received over 16 million plays as of March 2017.[4][23][24] His third single on Tiesto's record label Musical Freedom, titled "Bambini" was released in January 2017.[25][26] During the Ultra Music Festival in 2016, Tiesto introduced Williams to the crowd and invited him to perform on his set.[27][28] In March 2017, Williams' laptop was stolen from his house by a thief when he was sleeping. The laptop had valuable data for him as a producer prompting Williams to offer a $2000 reward to whoever helps him to get it back.[29][30] In 2017, he collaborated with Felix Jaehn to release the single "Feel Good" via Spinnin' Records.[31]
