Michael John Graydon Soroka (born August 4, 1997) is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher in the Atlanta Braves organization. The Braves drafted him 28th overall in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.
Soroka attended Bishop Carroll High School in Calgary, Alberta.[1] He pitched for the junior national team, coached by Chris Reitsma.[2] Prior to the 2015 draft, he was ranked 88th by Baseball America's annual rankings of prospects.[3] Soroka spent the 2016 season with the Rome Braves.[4] There, he posted a 9-9 record with a 3.02 ERA.[5]
The Braves assigned Soroka to the Mississippi Braves at the start of the 2017 season.[6][7][8] As one of the youngest players in Double-A, Soroka became one of the games top prospects and in will play in the All-Star Futures Game in July.[9][10]
