Mike McClean

Mike "Squeaky" McClean is a British Comedian, television presenter and actor. He is most famous for being a roving reporter on Richard & Judy and The Big Breakfast. He also appeared in The Office: "Christmas Special", House of Games and other TV programs.

At age 9, McClean won the junior close-up magic title. He later attended the Arden School of Theatre before going on to study at the Contact Youth Theatre.[1] McClean spent 2 years at drama school, but left after he was taught how to breathe. He left to pursue his dream of acting and stand up comedy.

McClean started presenting on the Nickelodeon channel. He presented for other children's television shows such as It's Not Fair and Mad for It. He then presented for adult shows, most notably Richard & Judy.[2] In 2003, McClean appeared in the Christmas special of The Office.[3]

He hosted the Xfm Manchester Breakfast Show between June 2008 - 2009 before ex-Radio 2 DJ Pete Mitchell took over. McClean provided the voice-over for Watchdog Test House In 2014. Mike played Father Tony in Shameless. He played Fin's dad in the C4 series My Big Fat Diary. Along with acting and presenting. In May 2015 Digital Spy listed him as one of 12 forgotten TV and Radio hosts. [4] Yet in an article in the Ipswich Star in January 2017 McClean said, "I’m working on a few TV ideas and my thing is to try to get back on the box; I’m writing a good comedy with a mate of mine who’s a very good comic. Hopefully, fingers crossed, we might get it away." [5]

McClean has been called a firm family favourite for Christmas pantomimes. In 2015 McClean played 'Wishee Washee'  in ALADDIN at the newly opened Derby Arena and in 2016 he starred in Sleeping Beauty at the Ipswich Regent Theatre. [6]

McClean is also an avid Manchester City Football Club fan and made many appearances at Junior Blue events. He presents at BT City Square. He is the captain of a celebrity football team.
