Mik Scarlet

Mik Scarlet (born 1965) is an award-winning British television presenter, actor, journalist and musician who originally came to prominence in the 80s and 90s.

Early life

Scarlet was born in Luton, Bedfordshire. He is a wheelchair user due to the consequences of cancer during infancy.[1]

Career

Scarlet won a 1992 Emmy Award for the children's television programme "Beat That" on Channel Four, for which he was also nominated for a BAFTA. He won a UNICEF award for work with disabled children. He has also played several cameo roles in shows such as Brookside and The Bill, and was a presenter for BBC2's "From the Edge".

Scarlet is a regular correspondent for The Huffington Post.[2] He wrote an article for The Independent in 2000 about social rights[3] and was quoted in The Independent about the Rio 2016 Paralympics.[4] He wrote an article for Time Out in 2012 about accessibility in London.[5]

He has appeared in numerous television programmes including 2point4 Children.
