Mihai Alexandru Bălașa (born 14 January 1995) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays for FC Steaua București as a defender.
Club career
Bălașa made his debut for the Viitorul's first team on 20 August 2012, in a Liga I match against Gaz Metan Mediaș.[1]
Roma
In August 2014, Bălașa signed for AS Roma from FC Viitorul, joining a growing Romanian contingent at the club.[2] Bălașa was part of the Roma squad for the 2014 International Champions Cup, featuring as a second-half substitute against Inter.[3]
On 22 August 2014, Bălașa signed for Crotone on loan.[4] He made his debut in the 0–2 defeat to Ternana on 30 August 2014.
On 16 July 2016, Bălașa joined Trapani on a season-long loan. [5]
Steaua București
On 24 January 2017, Bălașa signed a five-year contract with Steaua București for an undisclosed transfer fee.[6]
On 2 August, he scored from a free kick against Viktoria Plzeň in the second leg of a Champions League third qualifying round game.[7]
International career
Bălașa has represented Romania on many occasions at youth level.
