Miguel Martinez-Saenz, Ph.D. is the 19th President of St. Francis College.[1] Prior to becoming the President of St. Francis College, Martinez-Saenz served as Provost and Vice-President of academic affairs at Otterbein University.
Education
Martinez-Saenz holds a B.A. degree from Florida State University, obtained in 1993. He then attended the University of South Florida, where he obtained an M.A. in 1998 and a Ph.D. in 2001.
Career
After obtaining his Ph.D., Martinez-Saenz began his academic career as an Assistant Professor of philosophy at Wittenberg University in 2001.[1] After earning tenure, he accepted two administrative appointments: Assistant Provost for the first-year experience and Associate Provost for academic affairs.[1] Martinez-Saenz then moved from Wittenberg University to accept the position of Dean and Associate Provost for student success at St. Cloud State University in 2011.[1] In 2014, Martinez-Saenz became the Provost and Vice-President for academic affairs at Otterbein University.[1] As of 2017, he is the President of St. Francis College.
Martinez-Saenz has been honored with a variety of accolades during his academic career, including the Ohio Latino Awards Educator of the Year, Insight into Diversity Visionary Award, and The Lillian C. Franklin Diversity Award.[2]
