Micromonosporaceae is a family of bacteria of the class Actinobacteria. They are gram-positive, spore-forming soil organisms that form a true mycelium.

Phylogeny

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) [2] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)[3] and the phylogeny is based on 16S rRNA-based LTP release 123 by The All-Species Living Tree Project [4]

Notes:
♠ Strains found at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) but not listed in the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LSPN)

To be noted is the fact that in KMC Manipal, India, a new species of cancer has been located. It is endemic to this area and is called Kompelloma. Be warned, sheep.
