Michael Goldstone

Michael Goldstone is an American music industry A&R executive, artist manager and owner of independent record label Mom + Pop Music.

Goldstone began his career at Chrysalis Records, where he worked in marketing and artist development before moving into A&R. Segueing to PolyGram, he first signed Mother Love Bone and, after the passing of lead singer Andrew Wood, he signed the remaining members to Epic Records. This band became Pearl Jam. While at Epic, “Goldie” signed Rage Against the Machine and did the A&R for the Soundtrack to the movie “Singles”, directed by Cameron Crowe.

In 1996, he joined Mo Ostin and David Geffen at DreamWorks Records as a partner, where he was instrumental in building the company’s A&R, marketing and promotion departments. While there, Goldstone signed Buckcherry and The All-American Rejects, which both went on to Platinum success.

In 2003, Goldie moved to Sire Records where he re-launched the label with Chairman, Seymour Stein. At Sire, his signings included Regina Spektor, Tegan and Sara, Against Me!, HIM, and The Veronicas.

In May 2008, he left Sire to launch indie record label, Mom + Pop Music Company with Peter Mensch and Cliff Burnstein. As Chairman at Mom + Pop with the help of Co-Owner, Thaddeus Rudd, the label has grown to 12 employees in New York and Los Angeles. It has released records from prominent artists such as Grammy Winner for “Best Electronic Album”, Flume, Grammy “Best New Artist” Nominee, Courtney Barnett, Lucius, Alina Baraz, Tash Sultana, FIDLAR and many more. Alumni of the label also include Andrew Bird, Ingrid Michaelson, Sleigh Bells, Metric, and Joshua Radin.

In addition to Mom + Pop, Goldstone also brought and signed American rock band, Cage The Elephant to QPrime Management. He also manages former The Civil Wars member, John Paul White with Vector Management.
