Mellish is a crater on Mars, located in the planet's southern hemisphere at 72°38′S 23°44′W / 72.63°S 23.74°W / -72.63; -23.74. It measures 104.95 kilometers in diameter. The crater was named by IAU's Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature in 1994, after American amateur astronomer John E. Mellish from St. Charles in Illinois.[1] The naming was request by Steven Dick at the U.S. Naval Observatory.

Nearby craters include Dana to the west and Lyell to the northeast. East are Sisyphi Cavi, an area featuring hollows and to the south-southeast is Sisyphi Tholus and further south is Dorsa Argentea.
