Megastygarctides (Pronunciation: Meh-ga-stih-gark-tee-dess) is a genus of tardigrades, the only one in the subfamily Megastygarctidinae in the family Stygarctidae. Its etymology is Greek (στυγαρκτος) meaning Styx bears. The genus was named by McKirdy, Schmidt & McGinty-Bayly in 1976 and the subfamily was named in 1998 by Bello & de Zio Grimaldi.
