Media.net

Media.net is a contextual ad network which reaches more than 100 million US desktop users.[1] The company reported a revenue of 232 million USD for the year 2015 and manages more than 450 million USD of managed ad spend. On August 22, 2016, a Chinese consortium led by Beijing-based Miteno acquired Media.net for 900 million USD.[2][3] The deal is said to be the third largest ad tech acquisition ever.[2]

More than 90% of Media.net’s total revenue comes from the US. The company has seven offices worldwide, including global headquarters in Dubai, and US headquarters in New York City.[2]

History

Media.net is founded by Divyank Turakhia. Media.net tied up with the Yahoo! Bing Network to enable publishers to increase advertising revenue.[4] Media.net has since been touted as an effective alternative to Google Adsense.[5][6][7][8][9] Yahoo, Forbes, New York Times, Elle, Reuters, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping are among sites running Media.net ads.[10]
