Medi is a village in Gangapur City (now change tehsil with Wazirpur) in Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan, India.

History

The Village Medi established in 1669, by 2 brothers. They came from madyapradesh, sabalgarh district. Nowadays there are most of family belongs from Meena cast and also known as Dudawat & Sapawat, Jhareda. Swarnkar (Soni), Brahman, Baniya, Kohli, Kumhar, Harijan, Bargi, Goswami, Muslim and some more cast also live in this village.

Meadi is closely associated with the nearby village Katkad village. They are often known together as Katkad-Medi. Other nearby villages include Khandip, Fulwada ,chhitar ki jhopadi,math,gurja,and Meena Baroda & Vadoli. city is about 15 kilometers from Meadi. The congress party candidate GAYATRI MEENA PRADHAN of gangapur panchayat samiti IS also belongs to this village. The village sarpanch is "Mrs. Mamta Meena".

The primary occupation of Medi citizens is agriculture, but many Managers, Doctors and Engineers live there. The crops which are produced in major quantity are Mirchi, Sarson, Bajra, wheat, Particularly the quality of Mirchi is famous all over Rajasthan.

A famous temple of NARSIMHA is located in center of village.the people of the village often call THAKUR JI KA MANDIR And have great faith in narsimha. kad dev baba, hanuman ji, bhairon baba, mahadev ji temple also situated in the village. Two temple belongs to kad dev ji and one of them situated on bank of gambhiri river. The temple of Hanuman ji is also famous.

The main religious festivals are Deepawali, Holi, Gangaur, Teej, Gogaji, Makar Sankranti and Janmashtami, as the main religion is Hinduism. Dressed in brilliantly hued costumes, the people of the desert dance and sing haunting ballads of valor, romance and tragedy.
