The Mecar M72 is a fragmentation hand grenade used by the Belgian military. It was designed by Belgian company PRB, with Mecar taking over production after PRB closed.

The M72 grenade has a spherical body, weighing 230 grams in total, with an explosive load of 60 grams Composition B. The grenade can be thrown 30 to 35 meters by the average soldier. Its fuze delays detonation 4 seconds after the spoon is released. The inner tube explosion causes the main explosive load to detonate, which produces 875 shards of fragmentation, each weighing around 0.103 grams. The top and bottom are filled with 52 metal BBs. The grenade has an injury radius of 20 metres.
