McMaster & James
McMaster & James was a Canadian "boy band" music duo from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
History
Luke McMaster and Rob James met in 1997 and began forming under their combined names. Their self-titled debut CD released in February 2000 on BMG,[1] followed by numerous tour dates, including an opening spot on Christina Aguilera's Canadian tour that year. They had success with the hits "Love Wins Everytime",[2] "I Understand" and "Sweet Sensation" which were well received by Canadian radio.[3]
In July 2000 they opened for Christina Aguilera at the Winnipeg Arena.[4] Later that year the band was voted Entertainer of the Year at the Prairie Music Awards.[5]
In 2001, their song "Thank You" was named by SOCAN as one of the most performed Canadian pop songs.[6] In 2006, Rob James was a contestant on the fourth season of Canadian Idol, finishing seventh.
As of 2010, Luke McMaster collaborated with American singer Marc Jordan for recording Falling Man.
