McKee Barracks (Irish: Dún Mhic Aoidh[1]) is a military installation near Phoenix Park in Cabra, Dublin, Ireland.
History
The barracks, originally named Marlborough Barracks after John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough and built as a cavalry barracks to house 862 military horses, were completed in 1888.[2] Following the Anglo-Irish Treaty, the barracks was handed over to the Irish Republican Army in 1922 and renamed McKee Barracks (after Dick McKee, a prominent IRA officer) in 1926.[2] It's now an administrative centre where various Directors of Corps are based, as well as the location of the Irish Army Equitation School.[3]
