Maximiliano 'Maxi' Brian Rolón (born 19 January 1995) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a left winger.

Club career

Barcelona

Born in Rosario, Rolón started his youth career with local club Atlético Luján. In 2007, he joined FC Barcelona's youth setup, but only moved to La Masia three years later.[1] In 2013, however, he was loaned to UE Cornellà due to his non-EU status; he subsequently returned to Barça in January 2014, being assigned to the Juvenil A squad.[2]

In May 2014 Rolón was promoted to the reserves in Segunda División.[3] After being strongly linked to a possible loan move to Lleida Esportiu in August,[4] he remained at the club and made his debut as a professional on 4 October, replacing Juan Cámara in the 74th minute of a 0–1 home loss against CD Lugo.[5]

On 20 September 2015, with the team now in Segunda División B, Rolón scored his first senior goal, the game's only away to UE Olot for a first victory of the season.[6] On 1 February of the following year, however, he rescinded his contract.[7]

Santos

On 16 February 2016, Rolón agreed to a one-year deal with Brazilian club Santos FC.[8] He only signed his contract on 4 March, due to bureaucratic problems.[9]

Rolón made his debut for the club on 21 April 2016, coming on as a late substitute for Rafael Longuine in a 1–1 away draw against Santos-AP.[10] On 6 July, after receiving very little playing time, he rescinded his contract.[11]

Lugo

On 31 January 2017 Rolón returned to Spain and its second level, after signing a six-month deal with CD Lugo.[12] After only 2 games played, he left the club again at the end of his contract in the summer 2017.[13]

International career

Rolón was called up for the Argentina under-20's in August 2014, for the year's L'Alcúdia International Football Tournament.[14] He appeared regularly during the tournament, also playing against the Catalans in one of the matches.[15]

Personal life

Rolón's twin brother, Leonardo, is also a footballer. A right back or right winger, he plays for Vélez Sarsfield.[2]
