Max Price is the vice-chancellor and principal of the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He was installed as vice-chancellor on 19 August 2008, replacing Njabulo Ndebele. He is a qualified medical doctor and was previously Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Price has an MBBCh degree from the University of the Witwatersrand which he obtained in 1979; a BA (Hons) PPE (Oxon 1983); an M.Sc in Community Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; and a Diploma in Occupational Health from the University of the Witwatersrand.[1]
A motion of no confidence against him was defeated in 2017.[2]
