Matteo Plazzi
Matteo Plazzi (born in Ravenna) is an Italian sailor who has competed in multiple America's Cups.
He sailed with Azzurra at the 1987 Louis Vuitton Cup.[1] He sailed on Winston during the 1993–94 Whitbread Round the World Race.
He was part of the Prada Challenge team that won the 2000 Louis Vuitton Cup, before losing the 2000 America's Cup. He stayed with the team for the 2003 and 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup campaigns.[1][2]
Plazzi joined Oracle Racing and was the navigator on USA 17 when it won the 2010 America's Cup.[3] He sailed with Luna Rossa Challenge in the 2013 Louis Vuitton Cup.[2]
