Species
There are two recognized species:[1]
- Matoatoa brevipes (Mocquard, 1900)
- Matoatoa spannringi Nussbaum, Raxworthy & Pronk, 1998
Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Matoatoa.
Etymology
The specific name, spannringi, is in honor of botanist Jürgen Spannring who collected the holotype.[2]
