Mary Kelly Kunesh-Podein

Mary Kelly Kunesh-Podein (born 1960) is a first-term (2017-2019) member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, District 41B, which includes parts of Ramsey, Hennepin, and Anoka counties, including Columbia Heights, Hilltop, New Brighton, and St Anthony, northern suburbs of Minneapolis and St Paul.

Kunesh-Podein is a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) of Minnesota, and successor[1] to now state senator Carolyn Laine. She is listed by NativeVote.org as one of Minnesota's four Native American state legislators.[2]

Kunesh-Podein graduated from Cathedral High School in St Cloud, received a BA in elementary education from St Catherine University in St Paul (1995),[3] and MS in Information Media from St Cloud State University in 2010. She works as a library media specialist for Robbinsdale Area Schools,She recently worked at Robbinsdale Middle School, She serves as chair of the New Brighton Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission, and is a former candidate for the New Brighton City Council.[4]
