Marius Røvde
Knut Marius Røvde (born 26 June 1972) is a retired Norwegian football goalkeeper.[1][2] He has played for Rosenborg BK Byåsen, Drøbak/Frogn IL, Stabæk, Hønefoss BK, Ayr United, Wrexham, Motherwell, Lillestrøm, and Hamarkameratene.
Coaching
He holds a UEFA B License, UEFA A Goalkeeper Prolicense and KNVB and Johan Cruyff mastercourse. In 2009, he became Technical Director for Goalkeepers for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation. Rovde was a part of the U17 TTFF staff who was ranked No. 1 in CONCACAF, and No. 9 in the FIFA World Ranking. He also was coaching in 3 Gold Cups for TTFF. Also seen as Even Pellerud's right-hand man.
After his third season in Vancouver Whitecaps FC, he has been part of the MLS record of clean sheets in 2012 season and MLS record of most minutes without conceding goals with his Goalkeeper Joe Cannon. Before Marius Rovde came to Whitecaps FC, they had no Goalkeepers in the National programs and it was dominated by Ontario/Toronto. Now, basically all the National Goalkeepers are coming from Vancouver Whitecaps FC. 6 National Goalkeepers, U15, U17, U18, U19, U20 and Canadian Men's Full team.
On 29 July 2011, he was named goalkeeping coach for Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps FC.[3]
On 18 January 2017, he was named goalkeeping coach for Major League Soccer side Minnesota United FC.[4]
