Siti Mariam Ismail (April 20, 1933 - December 1, 2015) or more popularly known as Mariani is a famous Malay artist who is also a sister to Miss Sri Sri Saloma. He was born on 20 April 1933 in Tanjung Pagar, Singapore. He is one of the most stylish artists in the studio of Jalan Ampas.
Art Involvement and Career
His art career began after winning the singapore queen contest in 1951 when he was 17. He was the first girl to hold the title. However, he did not represent singapore at that time because the competition was first held in the republic. He was one of the most beautiful singapore girls at the time. The show has been a stepping stone for him to engage in acting. After that, he was offered an act by Studio Jalan Ampas owner Tan Sri, but he refused because his ambition was to become a doctor. After two years, it was after being persuaded by Saloma, then he agreed to act. His first film was Chemburu movie S. Ramanathan in the year 1952. He was hated for bringing evil characters in the film. After successfully bringing the evil character effectively, he was offered another acting in the company's films including Palace of Dreams film , A Return , Labu Labi , Nasib Si Labu-Labi and Tiga Abdul . Her acting films at Studio Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur are like Sweet Mashed Film and Discouraged . Besides acting, she is also talented in singing. Singing her song titled Young Blood . Young Blood Film is also among his acting films. Also acting in the film was Jins Shamsuddin's artist and artist Sarimah in 1963. [1] In her ages he continued to act and her latest appearance was in 'Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam II' 'Shuhaimi Baba in 2005. Also drama 16 episodes, Nur Qalesya. She now owns a private production company with her husband, Kus Semangat Aktor Sdn Bhd since 2007. She died on December 1, 2015. Her body was worshiped at the Al-Hidayah Mosque, Jalan Sentul and buried in the Muslim Cemetery,[2]
