Maria Claudia Lacouture (born 1974, Santa Marta, Colombia) is the Colombian Minister of Commerce, Industry, Tourism. She was appointed to the role in May 2016, previously Maria Claudia has worked in the private sector as an accountant and consultant.[1]

Education

Maria Claudia Lacouture studied Finance and International Relations at the University Externado de Colombia, and then pursued further postgraduate studies in Marketing and Economics at Cornell University in the United States.[2]

Biography

She worked as a researcher for Swiss Multinational consulting company Egon Zehnder International, and also held roles as an Administration and coordinator at Yupi Internet where she was in charge of dealing with business content for the Americas. Afterwards she went onto work as a Consultant with Trade Wing Networks in Maimi, where she specialised in product development of agricultural goods and sales strategy of Colombia Coffee in the US market.[3]
