Marco Castro (born November 30, 1980), in Lima, Peru is an American screenwriter, film director and make-up artist.[1]

Biography

Born in Lima, Peru of a Japanese and Spanish descent. Castro is a filmmaker, recognized for his fascination for strong female leads. Through his refined, provocative and enigmatic aesthetics, Castro's work explores the esoteric and the sensual evoking intimate emotions .

A Provocateur, Marco Castro is able to combine his extensive knowledge of fashion and film. He is a long-time collaborator of Francois Nars and his brand. Castro also has a strong acting background - having studied at the same school as Javier Bardem - and has been trained in deep immersive character development.

Castro has also collaborated with renowned filmmaker Pedro Almodovar and photographer Nan Goldin, both of which have greatly influenced his work. Castro's films have been Officially Selected in Palm Springs International Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival Malaga Film Festival, Guanajuato International Film Festival, Mexico Fashion Film Festival, New York Independent Film Festival, Medellin Fashion Film Festival, Canadian Fashion Film Festival, and the Parson's New School.
