Wedefit Gesgeshi, Wid Enat Ityopya (Amharic: ወደፊት ገስግሺ ውድ እናት ኢትዮጵያ?; ; "March Forward, Dear Mother Ethiopia") is the national anthem of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
History
The anthem's lyrics were written by Dereje Melaku Mengesha, and the music was composed by Solomon Lulu Mitiku. It was adopted in 1992, as part of reforms that followed the dissolution of the Derg government.[1]
