Marc Grégoire was the Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard from June 28, 2010 to December 31, 2014.
Grégoire graduated from the civil engineering programme at École Polytechnique de Montréal, in 1978, and completed the courses curriculum of the master's degree program in transportation at the Université de Montréal. After receiving his pilot's licence in 1980, he joined Transport Canada, in 1983, where he worked in the Quebec region. He worked in the public service, for the next twenty years, then became the Assistant Deputy Minister of Safety and Security at Transport Canada. [2]
