Manzoor Bismil (Balochi, Urdu: منظور بسمل ) is poet and intellectual. He writes in Balochi Language. Bismil is regarded as a living legend among modern Balochi poets. He is famous for his unique style and delivery. Manzoor Bismil started his career as a poet in 1990 and earned fame in very short period. He is also involved in other literary works and contribution to Balochi Language.

Background

Manzoor Bismil was born in Panodi Dasht Balochistan on 1 March 1972. He attended his primary school education from his home town in 1985, later on he moved to Turbat and did his matriculation from Shahi Tump School Turbat. After achieving B.A degree from Ata Shaad Degree College Turbat in year 1995, he went to quetta for his masters and received M.A in Balochi Language from University of Balochistan. After working few years in Balochistan he moved to Muscat, Oman and currently lives there.

Manzoor began writing poetry at early 90's though his first book Aap Rang (آپ رنگ) published in April 2007 which gained vast attention by literal society. His writing style is very unusual and simple which is recognized and liked by Baloch youth.[1] Till now his Six (06) poetry collections have published which are as under:

Balochi Literature

Manzoor is poet by generic but he also has been contributing to Balochi literature. He has worked in Balochi Academy, Quetta where he contributed in development of Balochi Dictionary, his contributions are acknowledged in the Dictionary.[3] He is also active in representing balochi language, literature and culture on the forum of Deem Rawi Majlis in Muscat,Oman.
