Dr Manon Bonner Antoniazzi LVO (née Jenkins, previously Williams; born April 1965), is the Chief Executive and Clerk to the National Assembly for Wales and she been since her appointment in April 2017.[1] Previously she had held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Visit Wales within the Welsh Government since 2012.[2][3] Prior to that appointment, in January 2012 she joined the Board of the Heritage Lottery Fund as Deputy Chair and Chair of the Committee for Wales. [4] From 2004 until 2012 Antoniazzi was a member of the Royal household of the Prince of Wales, where she served as a senior Private Secretary for Wales.[5]
Antoniazzi attended St John's College, Cambridge from 1983 until 1989. In 1990 she was awarded a PhD in Medieval Literature, for her thesis entitled Aspects of the Welsh prophetic verse tradition in the Middle Ages: incorporating textual studies of poetry from Llyfr Coch Hergest and Y Cwta Cyfarwydd.[6]
Antoniazzi was born Manon Bonner Jenkins. She is the eldest daughter of Emyr and Myra Jenkins.[7] Her father was a TV presenter, director of the Eisteddfod and the chief executive of the Arts Council of Wales.[7] Her mother, Myra Jenkins was a Welsh tutor and magistrate.[7] She has a younger sister, Ffion Hague,[7] who is a Welsh broadcaster, author and former civil servant.
Her first marriage was to Jeremy Huw Williams on 18 September 1991 at St John's College Chapel, Cambridge. [8] She is now married to John Antoniazzi. They live in Cardiff, Wales. They married at Lake Como, Italy, over the Easter weekend of 2014.[9] She has a daughter, Indeg.[9]
In the 2012 Birthday Honours Antoniazzi became Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order LVO.[10]
