Mandia is one of the developed villages located in Barpeta district of Assam, India.[[1]] The latitude 26.253356 and longitude 90.952764 are the geocoordinates of Mandia. The village is surrounded nearby Satra Kanara, Bhatkuchi, Bamun Dongra, Sonapur Rubhi and Gajia. It is located 8 km towards the south from district headquarters Barpeta and headquarters of the Mandia Development Block. [[2]]
Demography
The village belongs to the Char Chapori area of Baghbor LAC and major portion of people are East Bengal rooted Muslim. The village has a population of 3231, of which 1630 are males, while 1601 are females as per Population Census 2011.[[3]] The village has a lower literacy rate compared to Assam or whole India. The literacy rate of the village was 69.05% compared to 72.19% of Assam in the 2011 census. The male literacy stands at 76.76% while the female literacy rate was 61.11%.[[4]
