Man with a Vision is the third studio album by John Parr, released in 1992.[1] The album featured the track "Restless Heart" which was for The Running Man soundtrack in 1987. The title track "Man With a Vision" was originally recorded by Seven in 1990, which Parr produced. The song was written by Parr, Keith McFarlane and Simon LeFevre.[2] Parr wouldn't release his next album until 1996. This was Parr's first release on the European label Blue Martin Records (a division of K-tel Switzerland AG).

A promo video exists for both Man With A Vision and Restless Heart. Both tracks did not chart although the first peaked on the UK Singles Chart with Seven's original.

Around this time, John Parr's realization of a dream came when he had the chance to work with producer John Lange. They co-produced an album for the new band "Romeo's Daughter." A collaboration with Rick Wakeman followed, where he performed 2 songs on the Time Machine album.

In between this, Man With A Vision was released, and Parr traveled to Australia to perform as Paris in the rock opera of the same name. On the Paris album, John Parr performs the role of Paris, Prince of Troy, youngest son of Priam and King of Troy.[3]

Three singles were released from the album: "Restless Heart", "Man With A Vision" and "It's Starting All Over Again". However, they all failed to chart.

In a June 2011 interview by Mark Taylor for the Get Ready to Rock! website, Parr was asked why there was no further releases after Parr's following 1996 album Under Parr for over a decade. Parr responded:

"I was dead in the water long before "Under Parr". From the nineties onwards I was locked in the litigation. I was ducking and diving doing little deals here and there to try and stay afloat. All my income was frozen for almost twenty years so I had to really bob and weave. "Man with a Vision" was really a bunch of demos but as there were no deals on the table I was forced to release it through Blue Martin a small label in Switzerland - it was the only game in town - on the up side the owner of that company Martin Scheiss and AR Sue Beherendt became lifelong friends. Even though we had very little exposure due to the court case - they invested in "Under Parr". I told them not to unless they could afford to promote it properly. In the end they spent a ton of money making the record and had little left to promote it. I walked away from music for the next ten years. It broke my heart. I was making records that only my family and friends heard - some of my best work I think, that no body was going to hear. The guitar stayed untouched in the box for ten years and I never sang a note."[4]
