Malta (Rothmans) International Tournament was a biannual association football friendly competition for national teams that took place in Malta from 1986 to 2008. Initially the International Tournament was held biannually in the month of February and organized by the Rothmans. It was named Rothmans International Tournament. While the two first editions were won by German club sides, later editions had national "A" teams.
From 2004 the tournament was not sponsored by Rothmans anymore and instead organized by the Malta Football Association. The tournament was renamed Malta International Tournament.[1]
The teams played three (or two) round-robin 90-minute matches in the tournament.
