Malimbus is a genus of birds in the Ploceidae family. It was erected by the French ornithologist Louis Jean Pierre Vieillot in 1805.[1][2]
The genus contains the following ten species:[3]
- Red-crowned malimbe (Malimbus coronatus)
- Cassin's malimbe (Malimbus cassini)
- Rachel's malimbe (Malimbus racheliae)
- Gola malimbe (Malimbus ballmanni)
- Red-vented malimbe (Malimbus scutatus)
- Ibadan malimbe (Malimbus ibadanensis)
- Blue-billed malimbe (Malimbus nitens)
- Red-headed malimbe (Malimbus rubricollis)
- Red-bellied malimbe (Malimbus erythrogaster)
- Crested malimbe (Malimbus malimbicus)
