Malikpur is a village in Gujrat District, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is situated about 9.2 kilometres (5.7 mi) from main city of Gujrat. In the past it was the part of UC Deona, but in 1996 it was the part of UC Sabowal, from 1999 once again it was made part of UC Deona. In Local Government Election 2015 its again made part of UC Sabowal. The majority of the people of Malikpur belong to the Gujjar caste, but there are other castes including, Syeds, Butts and Masawat Families. From the past politically and Socially there are Two Main families of the village: Choudhery Sultan Ali known as Choudhary Family and Choudhery Akbar Ali known as Khatana Family. Officer's of the village 1- Major Muhammad Khan Choudhary was the first Officer of the village got commissioned in English Army before the Partition of India. He was the elder son of Ch Sultan Ali. According to the Land Revenue Record of the village he was the biggest Land Load of the Village successor of his father Ch Sultan Ali at the time Of existence of Pakistan. 2- Major Muhammad Khan Dheenda was the first one the the Village got commissioned in Pakistan Army. His Four Sons also got commissioned in Pakistan army they all are proud of the village. namely (A) Colonel Dr Muhammad Azam (B) Colonel Muhammad Arif (C) Brigadier Muhammad Farooq (D) Captain Dr Muhammad Saeed. 3- Captain Ali Akbar Choudhary served in Pakistan Army in Education Core and also take part in 1965 war. After his retirement Two time he was elected as B.D member in the village. He was also graduate. He was the youngest son of Ch Sultan Ali. He and His elder Brother Fateh Ali Choudhary fought the famous case of "Khanqah" against the qabza mafia and won the case till from the suprem court of Pakistan. After his death "2 Kanal" land for mosque was donated for esal e sawab by his son. 4- Dr Muhammad Azam Khatana is ex Vice Chancellor Federal Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi. He also served in University Of Gujrat. He is very active in social activities. Recently he donated 35 Marlaas of his place at Malik Pur 'Adda' and announced to build a Community Centre. The work is already begin and it will complete soon. 5- Dr Muhammad Aslam Dheenda is a well known Doctor of Gujrat.He got his early education from his village and Gujrat City. He went America for higher studies and return to serve his village. Today he is running a Private Clinic at Bhimber Road Qadir Colony. 6- Colonel (R) Muhammad Azam Dheenda is also a pride of his village.He Served Pakistan Army for almost 35 years and retired as Colonel.By time now he is living a peaceful life.He was also a well known volleyball player of his time. 7- Najeeb Ullah Khan Choudhary was Former PIA Regional Officer and most respectable person of the village. With the help of other people of the village he made Demarcation of the "Khanqah" and construct wall around it according to the order of Suprem Court of Pakistan. His son Hammad Najib Choudhary is an advocate of High Court. 8- Ch Sabir Hussain Khedowalia is a Civil bureaucrat serving in Punjab Civil Secretariat Lahore. He is a Proud of village made efforts for documentation and releasing funds for the construction of Bridges on "Nala Bhimber" and "Nala Bhander". 9- Ch Mudassar Khan Bajjar was PSO to the Minister of Defence from 2008 to 2013. Now he is serving in WAPDA. 10- Sher Afgan Choudhary is a Civil bureaucrat serving in Punjab Civil Secretariat Lahore. He was former Assistant Commissioner (AC) tehsil Kamaila and its proud for the villager's. He also made serious efforts with Ch Sabir Hussain Khedowalia for the construction of Bridges. 11- Fahad Najeeb Choudhary is younger son of Ch Najeeb Ullah Khan and was the former Director in Lahore Development Authority (LDA). He is very talented young man and was the youngest Director in LDA. Nowadays he is Lecturer in University of Engineering & Technology Lahore (UET). 12- Sufi Nazir Ahmed Khatana (Late) was one of the greatest Naat Khawaan of Pakistan. He used to sing Kalam Mian Muhammad Baksh Of Khari Sharif Azad Kashmir and it was his sole representation in whole Gujrat.He Died on 14 Oct 2014.May ALLAH grant him Jannah Ameen.
