Mala Bakhtiyar
Hikmat Muhammad Karim (born August 20, 1954), known as Mala Bakhtiyar, Mala Bakhtiar, or Mela Bextiyar (Central Kurdish: مهلا بهختیار), is a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan politician who has been in leftist politics since the 1970s.[1]
He was born in 1954 in Khanaqin.[1] He joined the Marx-Lenin Association in 1970, and became one of its leaders on the Iraqi regime's wanted list.[1]
He became part of the PUK leadership in 1976.[1] He became a member of the PUK Political Bureau in 2001 and the chief of the Executive Body of the PUK Political Bureau in 2010.[1]
He is one of the most active politicians and scholar, he leads many international conferences regarding han rights and middle east affairs. He is a co-founder of Dabran an enlightenment movement concerned with religious affairs and opposing extremism. Now he lives in Sulaimaniyah and he received many notable awards worldwide. He has also written many books .[2]
