Mahmudur Rahman Majumdar

Mahmudur Rahman Majumdar was Bangladesh army brigadier who was the most senior ethnic Bengali officer in Pakistan Army during the Bangladesh Liberation war.[1][2]

Career

Majumdar was the commanding officer of East Pakistan Regiment Centre at the start of Bangladesh Liberation war.[2] He was arrested and charged with treason by the Pakistan Army during the war.[3] He was tortured in custody.[4]

Majumdar after retireing from Bangladesh Army joined the Jatiya Party. He was elected to Parliament from Sylhet twice.[3]

Death

Majumdar died on 19 December 2011.[3]
