The Mahar are a Sindhi tribe found among both the Seraiki people of South Punjab, Pakistan as well as being found in Sindh, Pakistan.
History
The tribe mostly resides in rural Sindh.[1]
Homonym contradictions
Mahar Tribe living in Sindh, Pakistan is entirely different from the Mahar (caste- now neo Buddhists) living in Maharashtra, India. Both the Mahar Tribe and Mahar Caste have different origins and historical backgrounds.
Title
Mahar is also a title used by the Lali, Lak, Jauhri and Jethal of Punjab.
