Mahabodhi Expressway is a proposed expressway in the Indian state of Bihar.

Overview

The proposed length of the expressway is 210 kilometres (130 mi), and it will be six lanes. The expressway crosses the Phalgu, Paimar, Panchane and Ganges rivers passing through Bodhgaya, Gaya, Manpur, Atri, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bihar Sharif, Chandi, Daniawan, Fatuha, Patna, Minapur, Hajipur, Ismailpur, Lalganj and Vaishali. Gaya district, Nalanda district, Patna district and Vaishali district of Bihar state falls under this expressway. The expressway will reduce traffic between Gaya, Patna, Bihar Sharif and Hajipur, and tourists will be benefited by this expressway as more than half tourist centres of Bihar lies along this expressway. This expressway will be connected to the Grand Trunk road via NH 22.
